Vera, Ramos triumph in Arizona

NABA super welterweight champion John “The Phenom” Vera Jr. (17-0, 10 KOs) hammered out a ten round majority decision over Daniel Rosario (11-3, 10 KOs) on Saturday night at the Wild Horse Pass Casino in Chandler, Arizona. Scores were 95-95, 96-94, 96-94. Vera is ranked #7 by the WBA and #14 by the WBO.

In the co-feature, former WBA world champion Rico “Suavecito” Ramos (26-5, 13 KOs) scored a ten round unanimous decision over Tony Lopez (12-3, 4 KOs) to claim the vacant NABA super bantamweight title. Ramos scored a tenth round knockdown to punctuate a 98-91, 98-91, 99-90 win.

Welterweight Abel Ramos (18-2, 13 KOs) scored a sixth round TKO over Emmanuel Robles (15-3, 4 KOs). Ramos dropped Robles with a shot to the jaw and Robles couldn’t continue. Time was 1:16.
