Skoglund in coma with brain bleed

Super middleweight contender Erik Skoglund (26-1, 12 KOs), coming off a brutal fight against Callum Smith in a September Word Boxing Super Series bout, was feeling ill and taken to the hospital after a training session in Nyköping, Sweden. He was placed in a medically induced coma and underwent surgery last night to repair a bleed on the brain. Doctors are pleased with the results and Erik remains in a serious yet stable condition. The next 3-4 days are critical for his recovery. Team Sauerland asks that everyone respect the privacy of Erik and his family.
