Former heavyweight title challenger Dillian “The Body Snatcher” Whyte (31-3, 21 KOs) stopped Ebenezer Tetteh (23-2, 20 KOs) after seven hard-fought rounds on Sunday night at the Europa Point Sports Complex in Gibraltar. Whyte was busier, while Tetteh stalked him. Whyte gave Tetteh a beating, but the game African kept coming. The bout was finally halted after the seventh round.
Former cruiserweight title challenger Mike “The Rebel” Perez (30-3-1, 21 KOs) needed just 34 seconds to demolish Israel Duffus (20-13, 17 KOs). A straight left from southpaw Perez finished Duffus.
Fury usyk should be one of the best fights ever. 2 very smart boxers with good movement. I keep flip-flopping on my pick here.
Best fights ever? Hardly. Yes hard to pick (Usyk) but has no chance of being anything like a real classic. Think Hagler Hearns, Leonard Hearns I, Bowe Holyfield, Holyfield Tyson 1, AJ vs Vlad, etc etc. You got a lot of great tapes to watch!
The main match should have been Perez-whyte, Tetteh was smashed by Wardley in 2 rounds and Dubois in 3, although he did manage to shake Dubois a bit.
I think you are thinking of Richard Lartey . Wardley never fought tetteh and dubois ko’d him in 1
My Bad you are right.
Man, Israel Duffus is a Panamanian who fights out of LA. Just a few years ago he was a fringe contender with a pretty good record. I think he’s now lost something like 10 of his last 11 fights. What happens to a fighter when they go on these losing streaks? Do they give up trying to be competitive and become content on just getting a quick payday? A fighter on a losing streak earns higher paydays if he continues to lose. Not to say they are payed to take a dive, but they are in there to lose. They become a less desirable opponent and earn less money if they win the occasional fight.
Tetteh is one tough dude.
Right now Whyte is back to the level he was at before the Joshua fight. He is now a club fighter
