Fightnews.com® caught up with the legendary Hall of Famer Roy Jones Jr. as he has a big card coming up on Thursday, September 19 at the Legends Hotel Casino in Toppenish, Washington and shown live on Global Sports Streaming.com for $9.99.
The card is headlined by Roy’s fighter from India, Mandeep Jangra (10-0, 7 KOs), who faces fellow undefeated Nilo Guerrrero (9-0, 7 KOs) out of Nicaragua for the vacant NBA junior lightweight title.
Roy talked about his exciting card with many top prospects as well as a myriad of topics including Mike Tyson’s November clash with Jake Paul, Bivol vs Beterbiev, and potential super fights with Shakur vs Tank and Bud vs Canelo. He also shared his thoughts on.the impact of Turki Alalshikh on boxing and the downfall of Olympic boxing ever since his gold medal robbery at the 1998 Olympics in Seoul, South Korea in this exclusive interview.
I hope that the injustice given to Roy Jones , at the Seoul Olympics ,will be rectified by him receiving his GoldMedal.
That was a tragic boxing result (Olympics) for Jones, Jr. – truly sad.
Jones, Jr. was an Olympic boxing legend and a professional boxing legend.
Jones losing that fight in the Olympics is probably the biggest and saddest robbery I’ve ever seen in boxing. What’s up with guys always being interviewed in their car?
What does it matter???
Jones had a great successful professinal career in boxing
Fkkkk the olímpics
Almost like fu_k your spelling I guess! LMAO
I think the robbery in the Olympics is part of the reason rjj fought for as long as he did, same with holyfield.
Watching a washed-up Jones losing to the likes of Maccarenelli, Green and Lebedev are my worst boxing memories.
I hear you, Colson. I wish Roy had stopped fighting after getting beaten up by Joe Calzaghe but, interestingly enough, it was Joe who retired after that fight instead of Roy. That KO loss against Maccarinelli was a tough thing to see, especially when the ring physician was administering oxygen to Roy after the fight was stopped. He’s fortunate to still have his faculties after those five stoppage losses.
I’m just glad to see Roy Jones recovering after the recent tragedy in his life. God bless the champ.
Happy RJJ sounds well no- long term damage. RJJ was unbeatable at 168 pounds but moving further up in weight slowed him down just enough. RJJ never threw enough jabs. RJJ fought mostly with his guard to low and – he had amazing reflexes and ability to guess the direction of the incoming. RJJ’s unorthodox practices probably not recommended for 99% of fighters
