Rare double knockdown in The Bubble

In an off-TV fight on Thursday night in Las Vegas, welterweights Corey Champion (2-3, 2 KOs) and Peter Cortez (2-2, 1 KO) both landed right hands at the same moment and down they went. Cortez seemed to get the better of the exchange, but it was Champion who roared back and got a first round KO.

  • Why does anyone care if it is over “Bernardo’s” shoulder. Just show the feckin fight. Bitches, ESPN and TR. Maybe this is why no one watches these silly little thursday night cards anymore

  • Good to see four round fights and they have been competive. This is the apprenticeship experience that is required to produce talented journeymen. Finally a throw back to the “good old days”. These fighters are showing better footwork and shoulder snap. Trainers must be watching films of fighters like Greb, Louis some of the tradesmen of the past.

  • I want to see a triple knockdown where both fighters and the referee are knocked down

    • I remember seeing Frank Cappuccino get a bloody nose from an accidental punch about 30 years ago.
