Rising heavyweight Jeremiah “The Bullfrog” Karpency (15-1, 6KO) destroyed former IBF title challenger Rubin “Mr. Hollywood” Williams of Detroit in a scheduled 10 rounder on Saturday night at the Castleton Banquet & Conference Center in Windham, New Hampshire. Karpency came out with sharp and effective combinations along with a brutal body attack. Williams was floored 3 times from vicious body shots from the southpaw from Pennsylvania prompting referee Leo Gerstel to halt the onslaught at 1:36 of the 1st round.
In other action (all 4 rounders), welter Tommy O’Connell (1-0) defeated Bryan Abraham (6-28, 6 KO) by unanimous decision. Scores were 39-37 and 40-36 (twice). Also, welter Anthony Velazquez (1-0, 1 KO) anialated Andre Belcarris (0-3) at 1:10 of the 1st stanza, while middleweight Tolan Tascoe (3-7) defeated John Webster (9-8, 6 KO) by unanimous decision 40-36, 39-37 (twice). In addition, lightweight Ilya Blinnikov (6-0, 2 KO) stopped Theo Desjardin (0-8) at 1:36 of the opening round, while super middle Julio Campusano (1-0, 1 KO) stopped Rene Nazare (0-3) at 1:28 of round 1.
Lastly, heavyweight Tracey Johnson (4-5-5) battled Cristiano Pedro (2-1-1, 1 KO) to a 4 round draw. Scores for the spirited affair were 40-36 (Pedro), 39-37 (Johnson) and 38-38.
