IBF, WBA, WBO and WBC Franchise lightweight champion George Kambosos looks likely to be defending against WBC lightweight champion Devin Haney, now former world champion Vasiliy Lomanchenko decided to remain in Ukraine to defend his country against the Russian invasion.
“I respect your decision and I totally understand and I pray for you and your country,” Kambosos told Loma on Twitter. “Please stay safe and once I wipe the floor with Devin, we will make this fight between two real champions. God bless.”

Kambosos was forced into this fight just like Jo Jo Diaz was with Haney, and Kambosos will lose by a wider margin than Jo Jo did! There’s NOTHING that Kambosos does better than Haney, NOTHING! And, Haney has a far better ring IQ. Haney will win this fight by a wide decision( like 11-1 or 10-2 in rounds), but since the fight is in Australia, that will some how turn into 115-113 Haney, 115-113 Kambosos, 115-113 Haney by split decision. But bottom line, Haney will win this fight and the rematch!

In a time where Athletes as well as most people value money over loyalty & honor, I commend Loma for passing up on this fight and all of the accolades it was going to bring him! I actually favored him in a fight against Kambosos! I will forever be a fan of LOMA!! Much love and respect to you and your country!!
Agreed, was never a Loma fan but after hearing this, I am now. Any man or woman who puts life aside to defend their country is a true patriot and I wish him and his country nothing but the best. He is in for a real war.
He’s trying to leave the country and he just got there. I don’t know if it was a “patriotic” move or all for publicity.
Kambosos has to save face for trying to get out of the fight with Haney. Him waiting for Lomanchenko shows who is considered the weakest link out of the top Lightweights. Loma was trying to find a way out of the war but couldnt risk tarnishing his great Ukraine legacy. Or else, George would avoid Haney.
Kambosos sounds a bit scared with his statement and showed different energy when Haney was in his face.
Haney is the biggest bogeyman in Boxing and top fighters will only fight him to avoid looking scared.

I have noticed since the days Floyd Mayweather ruled boxing, the common narrative has been to label certain boxers boring. Haney will easily beat Kambosos.

Arturo- i want ur take on it. im still confused as to why Haney wants to move up in weight. Ur exactly right. He is no doubt Pillow fisted Haney. If he cant dominate a fight beating them up at that weight, what makes him think it wld happen at a higher weight. Curious for ur thoughts.
I didn’t give Kambosos much of a chance against Lopez but he showed fantastic determination and savvy to get the victory. Haney is a different fight. He’s a slippery customer with slick skills and the ability to deliver a wide range of shots from unlikely angles and stances. If George can shut off the ring and force the fight on Haney, he’s in with a chance but the smart money on is Haney by decision.

Spontaneously, I do not see how Haney will be able to stand up to Kamboso’s physique and pressure over 12 rounds.
I hope Haney surprises and that we get an intense and close fight.
Loma could choose big fights, decent hotels and a safe life, instead it will be the mud in Ukraine. I can not help but feel humbled by it.

I don’t think Kambosos wipes the floor with Haney. This is a very tough pick in my view but I don’t expect a one-sided victory either way.
Kambossis…energy and determination will be the key factor in beating Haney…keeping the pressure on him to fight every second of every round….Winning round per round…I see Haney taking too much punisment!…I real test for this boxer!…I like both fighters!….But i see Kambossis nearing a stoppage in the later rounds…9 to 12…..Will be a great fight if it happens!

All of you Kambosos fans make me laugh, especially when you talk about Kambosos having power. All of you are delusional about Kambosos power. Haney has more power than Kambosos! Kambosos has ONLY 10 ko’s in his 20 wins, that’s only a 50% ko ratio. Haney has 15 ko’s in his 27 wins. Plus Haney has the better chin( he’s never been down. Kambosos has!), Haney has the superior boxing ability over Kambosos, the better hand and foot speed over Kambosos, the superior boxing IQ over Kambosos. The ONLY thing that’s in Kambosos favor is that the fight is in Australia, that’s it! This fight is going to be a wiiiide decision in Haney’s favor. You all are going to find out why Kambosos did EVERYTHING possible to not take this fight.

Wow, a 5.5% KO ratio difference, stop the presses. George had the juevos to get into the ring and dominate Lopez. Getting up off the mat to get the win was the icing on the cake. Haney has been knocked silly several times, probably why he fights scared.
Knocked silly several times???? Who was the others? Yes, he was wobbled by Linares, but who else wobbled Haney? I’ve seen a lot of Haney’s fights, and I’ve only seen Linares wobble him.
Now, Kambosos getting off the mat to beat Lopez was very impressive, but I’ve seen Kambosos fight against Bey & Selby, and I tell you there is NOTHING special about Kambosos. His jab, left hook, over hand right will not work against Haney. And please don’t act like Kambosos does anything else than that, because he fight the same way against Bey & Selby. Haney is far more versatile than Kambosos. And, like I’ve stated a few times already. Haney does EVERYTHING better than Kambosos! But, I hope and pray that Kambosos doesn’t continue DUCK season against Haney. So Haney can make history by being UNDISPUTED!

I know Kambosos can fight in boxing’s muddy waters, but I wonder if Haney is ready to fight in boxing’s muddy waters (i.e. inside/physical fighting, shoulder bumps, hitting during/off a clinch; low blows and/or a little thump on back of head). Kambosos will box, but he may also take Haney in boxing’s muddy waters.
I also hope Garcia vs. Cruz occurs later. Looking forward to Davis vs. Romero.
