ESPN+ hits one million subscribers

Looks like direct-to-consumer subscription streaming services are here to stay. It was just announced that ESPN+ has surpassed one million paying subscribers in just over five months since its April 2018 launch. Thanks to a comprehensive agreement with Top Rank, ESPN+ has become a boxing destination showcasing top U.S. and international championship fights featuring the likes of Manny Pacquiao and Terence Crawford among others. The $4.99/mo service also offers baseball, hockey, soccer, tennis, college sports, and other live action.
