Smith has not faced a puncher like Beterbiev. Smith will be working overtime to keep Beterbiev off him. Smith better keep moving at angles to rack up points off his boxing skills. Beterbiev TKO once he settles into the fight.
I agree, though Snith has a chance as an underdog. Questions: What about Beterbiev suddenly confronted with father time in the ring? He’s gonna be 40 years soon. Has B faces a puncher like Smith before?
Father time is usually soft on people like him. He train, sleep and pray, he is a zealous muslim. He won’t test positive for cocaine in a near future…
“He train, sleep and pray, he is a zealous muslim.”
So what? As if Smith is not focused.
Smith probably enjoy a good beer like me and you, it’s not about focus it’s about healthy lifestyle helping you having better capacities in a ring when you are near 40.
Very good video and appetizer! Can’t wait!
Smith better get his punches in early before the Beterbiev machine gets warmed. Smart offensive aggression (early) is the key for Smith because maybe he catches a cold Beterbiev in the early rounds.
Beterbiev appears to take care of himself outside the ring and at the dinner table, so age probably will not catch him for this fight and HOPEFULLY NOT for a future fight against Bivol. Maybe age will catch him after he fights Bivol and later enters the HOF as one of the best fighters at 175.
I am looking forward to this fight.
The publicity for this fight aims to make the people believe that Callum Smith has a chance against Beterbiev, but in reality the only chance Smith has is to come out alive from his encounter with Beterbiev in the ring. This is gonna be a one sided beating that barely will last 5 rounds, at 39 Beterbiev still a beast that not many people want to ride
I agree burucho, I do not see this fight as a 50/50 fight. I thinking along the lines of 85/15 for beterbiev. My question is: how long does this fight go? I say six.
These two guys are the opposite of Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia. They’re all about the craft of boxing, not the craft of drama and social media. could you imagine Beterbiev tweeting about other fighters girlfriends or getting in Twitter wars with other fighters, or taking time away from the sport for mental health reasons? No, I really can’t. Callum Smith too, he seems humble and laser focused. I remember in the post fight interview after Beterbiev thoroughly dismantled Joe Smith he said something like ” Someday I just want be good boxer”
Old school mentality. Where people from my days came from the shoulders, where your word meant everything, and you did what said you were going to do. Respect was shown until otherwise. Guys like Garcia and Haney have no respect for their craft. It’s all about how many followers I have.
Smith is no underdog Berterbiev is 40 he was dropped previously, Yarde should have stopped him
Callum will smoke him tonight
People conveniently forget he tore his bicep in round three against canelo, fought with one arm ans still went the distance
And finally he is a Scouser and a red
