  • I got the right round, but the wrong boxer. Congratulations is in order. Bud won. Plain and simple. He is now going to the IBHOF.

For Spence, it’s back to the drawing board.

  • I predicted Crawford on a UD. Guess I was off. Crawford’s power coupled with his precision counter punching made the difference in this fight. Once round 5 approached, Spence was rather baffled how to lead his offense without being cracked by those counters. Should they repeat the rematch clause? I think now we will the same outcome.

    • Same here Mr. Doo. I thought it would be a tactical fight until the late rounds but a clear win for Bud. That was weeks and days before the weigh-in though. After the weigh-in, a knockout was clearly on the table. That’s was a one sided beat-down.

  • i predidted Crawford but by UD not in such fashion ! But don’t forget Inoue for yhe P4P he is going to be undisputed in two weigh categories too mark my words.. Easy !

  • During fights, Crawford can often look unspectacular, his punches don’t look as destructive as some fighters, but he’s a very composed, does the basics extremely well, fires short precise shots and is rarely wreckless.

Spence is a good fighter, but the difference for me was Spence had to take chances to get his shots off, and was very open while being aggressive, which Crawford capitalised on perfectly.

Crawford’s defense was very subtle, being in range, but slipping, sliding and blocking Spencer’s attack.

The overall result was a relatively easy KO win for Crawford, a spectacular result.

Finally, we have 1 fighter at welter who’s the champ.

Be great to see the same happen for the other weight classes.

  • Anyone who knows boxing knew that Errol Spence was always a hypejob, he got famous for knocking out guys that were already down and out – algeri, brook, peterson & reportedly knocking out an old Mayweather in sparring, as well as Adrien broner who was also a hypejob.

    • Don’t know about a hype job, actually, no you’re right, the majority of alphabet champs are hype jobs, it’s boxing, too many ‘champs’, when in reality there can be only 1 best fighter in the world in any weight category. Can’t really blame the fighters, it’s the governing bodies that created this situation and I guess the fans/journalist too for giving credit where its not due. Boxing today is sadly largely smoke and mirrors.

    • I would not call Errol a hypejob. Just because his outside of the ring lifestyle has caught up with him, it doesn’t mean that the entire career was a marketing scam. Although he got waxed, he was at a great fighter that no one wanted to fight. Crawford was the only one calling for a fight with Spence for years and it happened too little too late.

  • Had Bud by KO in rd 10 or 11. Hope Ennis gets a shot against Bud, and I’ll wager Bud will humiliate him as well.

    • Yep. Ennis is not ready yet. He’ll get smoked. Only shot Ennis would have is if father time sneaks up on Bud and chokes him out before fight time.

    • Ennis had his chance 7 months ago and decided not to take it……….the decide to go after the IBF. He’s all talk also

  • I’ve been telling people this fight would be easier for Bud than most think………because I’ve known all along Spence always have trouble with southpaw fighters that can box good and move.
And he needs his opponents to stand directly in front of him to be effective

  • Bud is an ATG what a performance ,Spence is just a good solid fighter no side movement or ring IQ at all just used to running guys over and will get KOed again probably easier this time.

    • Good take Dean…agree partially…Spence was definitely exposed …Somewhat like ..Gerald McClellan …not that Benn was on the level of Crawford…But McClellan had that great offensive arsenal …that was so devastating …it was hard to test the weaknesses…until you get another fighter on or near that same level…Thomas Hearns is another example of such a great undefeated explosive offensive fighter ..until tested (by Sugar Ray.Iran Barkley)..hopefully Spence can bounce back and have a career like Hearns….damn boxing mirrors life!!!!

      • Hey Sean, I agree but I think Spence will be more like Roy Jones Jr. He was a different fighter after Traver. Roy was a monster with all the tools way more than Spence.

  • Guys… Crawford deserves every credit for this outstanding performance and being prepared and acting professional at the highest level….
Though…after the first half of the first round…I hate to say this…in my opinion…I just felt like Spence was not that same beast we saw earlier for whatever reason….Spence was hesitant…a little timid.. Spence knew or should have known to beat a fighter like Crawford…that Aaron Pryor…Marvin Hagler.. mentally was needed ..(be prepared to take but deliver…with pressure)…along with Spence’s other skills.. Spence..after the first knockdown and the beginning of the second round it was there for Spence…that fire…but then Spence went into this shell…that we are not use to seeing…we saw flashes …Bud actually carried Spence…could have finished Spence earlier…

  • I mentioned this quite a bit on here. That this fight started when Errol walked out of the building at Crawford v. Porter, rather than challenge Terence in -ring. Errol challenged Porter, post-Garcia in -ring. Then easily made that fight. The out of-ring behaviors are not often valued or discerned. Errol was too apprehensive in making this fight. Secondly, during the fight, Spence showed he is too limited in Boxing Science. Too limited.

  • Spencer it’s not recovers from his car accident
Crawford did his job but Spencer it’s not the same

    • So when Errol beat Garcia and Ugas [ after the car accident ] Errol was alright? You all are type emotionally and without any memory and logic on here.

      • In my opinion….Coach…in my humbleness and I could be wrong…Errol…prior to the accident was at such an elite level..only a select few could match him….let’s say Errol was at a 20 on a scale of 1-10…in other words off the chart…that good….to beat someone else that is a 20 then Errol had to stay at that level or go higher…even after the accident Errol was a great fighter..maybe a 15… therefore he could beat an Ugas (7-8) or even a very good Garcia (9-12)…but to beat a Crawford he had to maintain that 20 or go even higher…wisdom says that should have trended up …after those fights cause …he won both and did not take a beating in winning…Errol should have added to his greatness…the only thing that happened before Garcia and Ugas was the accident..during those fights ..Errol was a different type of monster …still a beast…but not the same….and that was big…Errol was thrown from a vehicle going very fast…extensive damage..,while the accident may not have anything to do with his performance against Crawford….It is not unreasonable for many to believe that it did and Spence was not the same….

    • Carlos, agree, Roy Jones Jr. said the same thing. If people can’t see Spance was not the same after his accident, well they can’t see it. What his body went through was really bad, he could never be the same again.

  • Thurman, Shakhram Giyasov, Cody Crowley, Rocha, these are 4 names Crawford probably has to fight in next 12 to 18 months (or 3 out of 4 of them). Vergil Ortiz and Spence, for their health, it’s questionable if they are allowed to fight in Vegas anymore (if Vegas denies you to fight there, other states should wonder) Spence would keep getting hit and he is wanting to be at 154 more than Thurman. Danny Garcia vs Spence rematch at 154 makes more sense than Crawford vs Spence 2, if trying to see if Spence has any business fighting much longer.

  • It is nice to see a big fight have a definitive conclusion. I picked Crawford or or at least leaned toward him. I never thought it would be this one sided. I wonder will this fight get forgotten in future decades because it was so one sided. Leonard – Hearns really set the bar. Dela Hoya’s fights with Quartey and Trinidad were compared at the time but not afterward even though the match with Quartey had some drama. A fight that seems to be rarely mentioned is Curry – McCrory. Two undefeated champions, however it ended in a blow out. That fight seems to be all but forgotten.

  • I think it’s time for the gentleman on the right to start seriously considering salads.

    • James …you mean dude…not affecting his ability to train one of the baddest mfers of our time,.

  • Crawford is open to fighting Spence at 154lbs huh?
Based on that statement I’m making a prediction right now that I want documented for future reference, because the corrupt NABE has become so predictable that I really believe the following will happen now.
Jermell will vacate his 4 belts (compensated of course) and these 2 will fight for a vacant 154 belt, of which Bud will of course win, so that he is now a 4 division champ. Mark it 7/30/23
P.S. He’ll avoid Tim Tszyu like the plague (mark that too)

    • Chris…Crawford avoiding Tszyu like the plague… interesting…Chris …after this performance by Crawford…why do you think Crawford would avoid Tszyu?

  • Its safe to say everyone was off. No one could have predicted this outcome. I had some discussions with a few of my buddies and I’m so impressed with BUD, I think prime for prime he may have possibly defeated Floyd Mayweather. Now it’s making rethink the fantasy match-up of Floyd vs SRL. In a time-machine picture Mayweather, Bud Crawford, Spence and Manny Pacquiao. I think Bud comes out on top. He has it all.
