  • Not sure why a fighter would let another guy get a hand around their throat. Any man for that matter, its a threating posture and doesnt seem natural to allow it.
I remember Mayweather did this to Victor Ortiz at their pressure and couldnt believe Ortiz let that slide. I did not know about this fight and deserved better promotion. Josh Taylor is one of the few top fighters that fights top competition and should be at the top of p4p list.
Im not sure who is who in this photo.

    • The grab didn’t even last a second. Caterall let go and Taylor did the same thing back to him. I agree with you, it should be better promoted, but I know absolutely nothing about Caterall. Maybe there’s an acknowledgement that this is just a showcase fight for Taylor and may not be very competitive.

      • I actually think this is a bit of a banana skin. Taylor has been to some dizzying heights recently, so hopefully he has been just as focused for this. Catterall isn’t a mega prospect, but he is unbeaten and will be as hungry and optimistic as you can be. This does reek a bit like a potential upset.

        • Maybe you’re right. I’d love to see it. Looking at Caterall’s record he does have 2-3 names that I’m familiar with – Ohara Davies probably being the biggest. But he doesn’t appear to be much of a puncher and he didn’t have a fight at all last year, so I’m thinking if he does pull the upset on Taylor, it seems like he’s going to have to win rounds instead of relying on hurting him.

  • Looking to see a good scrap here (I know I say that all the time). Never heard of Caterall either. I’ll be rooting for Taylor.

  • Cateral is a British/ European level fighter that took step aside money to allow the undisputed fight with Ramirez. Taylor kept is word to fight him / get a fight on Scottish soil before he moves to 147lbs.
Taylor looked a bit drained in the eyes / face and will have an interesting rehydration (assuming IBF check weight in place?) But should have too many tools in the bag and get a mid to late stoppage.

  • just hope to see a good fight not sure how well Taylor will do at 147 but regardless he was undisputed at 140 good for him
