On February 15, 46-year-old former world champion Felix Sturm (44-6-3, 19 KOs) will begin his latest comeback. Sturm will take on 38-year-old Benjamin Blindert (14-1-2, 10 KOs) in a ten-rounder at the Ratiopharm Arena in Neu-Ulm, Germany.
Benjamin Blindert: “For Felix, the fight against me is a ‘normal day at the office’. I have followed his career for many years and was a fan of his myself. For him, this is all a small step, but for me it is a big one. And that will be an advantage in terms of motivation and also in preparation. Felix is a flawless boxer, but this is the only way I will be able to give my maximum!”
Felix Sturm: “Benjamin is a calm guy, not one to make a big deal out of. He will look for his chance because it is a great opportunity for him. I think he will put everything on the line and prepare accordingly. Boxers who are very calm beforehand usually come around the corner with a surprise. I will be prepared for anything.”

In addition, another former world champion, Vincenzo Gualtieri (23-1-1, 8 KOs) will be stepping into the ring.
Felix is going to be fighting until he’s 50 to deal with his taxes. RIDICULOUS how he and Arthur Abraham never matched up.
I remember when he fought Oscar De La Hoya and many felt that he won. An Oscar loss would have ruined the proposed middle weight showdown between Oscar and Bhop. Should have been the biggest win on Felix’s resume but that’s boxing.
Agreed. Oscar was gifted that decision.
A definite gift. I was in the crowd that evening thinking there is no way they are going to give Oscar the victory because it was that clear cut. Scores got read and I was on the floor, but that’s boxing, A side B side, and Vegas was still DLH territory at that time.
…why is boxing giving a rip about this? So he wins. Then what? He gets knocked out and never wakes up, what then?
Well Kurtis if he gets knocked out and doesn’t wake up then you will have another story to talk about.
Actually…your post is funny….hope that does not become reality though
Why not fight De La Hoya again? Haha
For what it is worth I thought Sturm fought well but was beaten by Oscar de la Hoya in a close fight.
For what it is worth Sturm received a few gifts from the judges when he fought in Germany.
Sturm beat Oscar! Period!!!
Oscar won it. It was close but Oscar landed plenty of body shots and this made this difference.
