  • It is not the massive fight it could’ve been but I still consider it to be a very good fight. A real crossroads fight where the loser has almost nowhere to go at the world-class level.

    • Fury would still run his mouth like he is undefeated, and the judges cheated him over Usyk. Let’s move on folks away from the mentally handicapped Fury.

  • That would be a huge fight and event for United Kingdom. Im sure Fury would take that fight. The long-awaited Wilder fight would be almost as big. End it with a Farewell fight with Chisora lol. AJ has big money to make before he hangs them. He could make 40-50 million in the next 3 fights.
I could see him becoming a commentator down the road, just like Lennox did.

  • Probably makes sense, both were schooled by Usyk, so why not fight one another. Tyson Fury ruined his career with that lackadaisical performance in his rematch with Usyk.

      • True, but Fury thinks he won both fights against Usyk. Therefore, the narcissistic Fury thinks in his own mind he is undefeated…LOL

        • You post half a dozen comments on this topic assuming people are desperate to hear your opinion and you call Fury a narcissist? Fury has pretty much been heavyweight boxing for the last ten years. No one knows this better than his opponents who are all far richer men because they fought Tyson Fury. Short of a KO Fury was not gonna win that last fight, the scoring says it all.

  • It would sell. Styles make fights. Just one punch can change the fight, like Joshua did against Ngannou, where Fury could not do anything.

    • Arm-punching-cane-pole-legs Fury still thinks he’s the undefeated fighter in his own narcissistic mind.

  • “Joshua: In 2025 I’m targeting Tyson Fury!”
    – Outside of Great Britain, I don’t think many people care……………….

    • You nailed it once again, Gary. If Fury was only 6’3″ and 230 lbs he would have never made it this far. The oversized blubber king.
AJ is Rubber Legs. If the wind touches his chin those bodybuilder legs turn into pasta.

  • Coming from Joshua now just doesnt mean much. Id expect it to be an easy fight for Fury unless Joshua let his hands go and gets lucky.

  • Tyson Fury will defeat you every time Anthony because your boxing skills a defensively are average and you telegraph your punches, that’s how Dubois got you. Tyson will give you a boxing lesson.

  • The plain and simple fact is that Joshua has no natural ability. He’s incredibly robotic and relies on outmuscling his opponent. Lifting weights and being bulky does not make up for a lack of hand to hand skill against an opponent skilled in same. Years have passed, and Joshua has managed to avoid matchups against Fury and Wilder, two equally mediocre fighters he doesn’t have a height advantage over. I wish the three of them would just retire, since all three represent nothing but hype over skill.

  • I’m not mad about Fury vs Joshua. I’m intrigued to see how it goes down. However, I don’t want to see them in any more title shots or title-shot elimination matches. It’s time for some new blood to get a title shot. The Parker vs. Dubois winner will likely get a title shot next. You have Agit Kabayel (who KO’d Frankie Sanchez) vs. Zhang. Both fights scheduled for Feb 22. I wish Martin Bakole was on that card as well. Can’t wait to see him again.

  • I actually think Joshua v Fury is a good match up. The winner carries on the loser hangs up the gloves.

  • The reactions to this fight surprise me. It might not shine as much without the Championship on the line, but both these guys are still clearly top level guys. Go ahead and try to list your top 5 Heavyweights without them.

Consider their defeats: AJ basically has been caught with big shots twice and lost to Usyk twice in fairly close fights. He easily avenged the Ruiz debacle and while I think Dubois is clearly rising, I could see AJ winning that matchup. As for Usyk, the rematch was really close. AJ definitely needs to beat a couple real contenders to earn another shot, but it’s not time to write him off.

Fury has lost two close fights with Usyk. Personally, I think he employed the wrong strategy in both fights. Close rounds are often given to the man coming forward and Fury was too busy proving how great a boxer he was to be that guy. Additionally, when you outweigh your opponent by 50 plus pounds it’s a really bad optic. Like, AJ he now needs to beat a real contender to earn another shot at Usyk.

AJ vs Fury is a great matchup! It feels like a fight that ends in a KO too. I think Fury will come forward and get it done in this match if they meet

  • This was expected.

I hope Fury can get himself together mentally and see this as a challenge. I’m almost more worried about Joshua after his mental breakdown after Usyk 2 and the way he got run over by Dubois.

I would have much rather seen Fury vs Dubois. With that fight, Fury could have regained some of what he lost against Usyk, or Dubois with a win could have established himself as the real contender.

And I am aware of Dubois vs Parker. That is a real tough fight.

Also looking forward to Kabayel vs Zhang.

Is Kabayel really as good as his ranking shows? It’s hard to say. He has been skilfully matched. In his perhaps two biggest wins, the one against Sanchez and the one against Makhmudov, didn’t really say much. Sanchez didn’t look good at all and Makhumdov skills was exposed.

Despite Zhang being 41, I think this could be Kabayel’s toughest challenge yet.

  • Happy New Year’s everyone.

This is what, 6, 7 years too late? Joshua is looking for a one and done. Hype up the fight, market the hell out of it in England and win or lose, ride off into the sunset after the mega payday.

We have been jipped out of way too many good fights because of the politics of boxing.

  • Meh. I’d rather see Wilder-Joshua first. Both have four losses now, both have been viciously kayoed. Both can still punch, neither has a chin. Should have happened in the summer of 2018. After that (barring a Wilder haymaker that lands), I think AJ would win then set up Fury-AJ. Fury wins that and all the loose ends are tied up.
Because I have to say, the division is looking pretty grim when you’ve got a soon to retire Usyk, three hot and cold fighters like DuBois, Parker, & Zhang as the big names with Kabayel, and Bakole being the only fresh faces. And no one outside of Pulev’s household believes he’s a champion.

  • Its not as big of a fight now as it would have been years ago but its still an interesting fight nonetheless. As long as these two are not getting another title shot or in an elimination match for a title shot, I’m all for it.
