Eddie Hearn talks Kownacki-Cusumano

By Przemek Garczarczyk

Matchroom Boxing CEO Eddie Hearn explains the high stakes for heavyweight Adam Kownacki in his ten-rounder against Joe Cusumano in the chief support to Saturday night’s Berlanga vs. Quigley main event at MSG Theater.

“If Kownacki loses this fight, his career is over,” said Hearn bluntly. “But if he wins well, he’s a big enough name to get a big fight. We will see. Cusumano is a big heavyweight, not an elite, and he thinks he won the lottery getting this fight because he’s convinced that Adam is finished, And they are convinced they will win. We will see.”

  • Eddie Hearn trying to recycle nyc club fighters to fool public in 1 decent payday ..kownacki is strictly a Hammerstein ballroom Broadway boxing (dibella low level prospects) level club fighter ..berlanga is a guy that won’t be boxing in a year ..don’t think he’d Accept Broadway boxing but that’s his level also and not even main event at that level

  • didnt they say his career would be over if he lost to Ali Eren Demirezen!

  • Should have never allowed him to fight horrible management can’t fight a guy with power

He should be ashamed of himself, awful defense very irresponsible by management
