Detroit, MI- Cruiserweight Derick Miller Jr. (18-0, 10 KOs) made quick work of Fransisco Cordero (46-22, 35 KOs) by winning by TKO at the 1:20 mark of the 1st Round. Miller opened the contest with a steady left jab. Not too long after the bell to start the fight, Miller found a left to the body of Cordero that had him hit the canvas. Referee Steve Daher counted him out.
Antwan Jones landed a beautiful right uppercut on his opponent Alan Campo to win the scheduled 8-Round Light Heavyweight contest in four rounds. The 53-second victory by TKO in the 4th, also, produced another knockdown by Jones in the 3rd. The win improves Jones to (17-0, 10 KOs) and Campo drops to (19-11, 13 KOs).
Jr. Welterweight Matthew Niziolek (7-1, 3 KOs) after his fight called his bout a “street fight” to announcer Kara Ro. His opponent Lamar Bolden came in with a game plan of trying to hold and stall Niziolek. This led to bad timing and really, just an awkward fight. The 4-round fight had Niziolek scoring two knockdowns; one in the 2nd Round and the other in the 3rd. Bolden scored a knockdown in the 3rd Round, as well. Referee Lorraine Aldridge, who did a good job of trying to keep order in this bout, took a point away in the 3rd from Bolden for continued blows to the back of the head of Niziolek. After four rounds, all three judges had the UD for Niziolek (39-35, 39-35, 39-36). Bolden drops to (2-11-2).
Heavyweight Vernon Webber (10-1, 7 KOs) destroyed Jawaski Bethly (0-4) by TKO at the 1:25 mark of the 1st Round. Webber, traditionally who has fought at Cruiserweight, called out Derick Miller for a fight after his victory.
Other results of the night had Ontario Johnson (0-3) losing to pro debut Heavyweight Michael Teolis (1-0, 1 KO) by TKO at the 2:12 mark of the 2nd Round.
Katriel Young (1-3) scored TKO victory at the 24-second mark of the 1st Round over Super Middleweight Faisal Rehman (0-1-1).
Light Heavyweight Hassain Bilal (7-0, 6 KOs), fighting out of Superbad Gym, wins by a 2:25 1st Round TKO over Martinez Stevenson (0-2).
Jr. Middleweight Marcus Wilson (4-0, 2 KOs) wins by TKO in the 1st Round over Darius Carr (0-6).
Middleweight Kevin Carree Jr. (4-0, 3 KOs) wins by 2:02 TKO over Rodolfo Puentes (21-10-2, 16 KOs) in the 1st Round.
Pro debut Jr. Flyweight Ryan Williams (1-0, 1 KO) won by 1:59 TKO in Round 1 over Khendal Moore (0-6).
The card was promoted by Carlos Llinas at the Sound Board in Motor City Casino and Hotel.

Should be called ‘Night of Losers’ with all the 0-2, 0-6 etc. type records.
Not interested in these type of cards, which are designed to produce KOs from mismatches. This has nothing to do with “the sweet science”, and feels more like gimmicky WWE type nonsense for today’s boxing casuals.
Well, fellas, they got to start somewhere. Not ever fighter is gifted into fighting on big cards and stardom like others. Remember getting in that squared circle is no easy task for an amateur, a long shot from middle America, tough city kid with nothing to lose, or that rising star with Olympic pedigree.
A lot of truth in what killa king says gentlemen as an old foreman told me once everyone starts somewhere but it’s hell to watch him grow
Looks like all the house fighters won. C’mon, Detroit! Fans deserve better matchmaking.
always great when undefeated guys are fighting nubs with 11 or twenty something losses. Boxing is it’s own worst enemy. Whether Bivol “losing” to Beterbeiv or mismatches on a huge stage. Tank vs everyone he ever fought. Remember the lead up to Rolly? Like Pernell/Chavez , which was the rip off at the Alamo 2, boxing never fails to impress the asdic. How I miss Thursday night fights or even Don King giving us 5 title fights on one card. When fighters dare to be great, aka Bivol, and the judges rip him off in the name of Allah, it is a black eye un-recoverable from. The days of Evander Holifield fighting every single heavyweight who was brave enough to show up are practically over. The best are shunned while Andy Ruiz (who has one win that mattered his whole career) is talked about as a challenger for Usuk, is representative of the issue. Oh and Ruiz landed a lucky punch anyway. He flopped around and stopped Joshua, who was never great despite the hype. Hence getting knocked out by the guy who quit against Joyce and Usuk.Yeech. There are killers in the division , like the guy who crushed Anderson, who was anointed as the next great thing. Bakol. While Bakol can fight he won’t get a shot anytime soon. So we get Joseph parker who while talented is boring and meh. Lara at 154 is a good older fighter who beat Canelo but because he is Cuban, got screwed. So he fights a old version of Danny Garcia who was limited to a here it comes hook in his prime. Shakur? Yawn. Yet I keep coming back with hope. Sigh…nuff said
Damn, Kurtis, I think I agree with just about everything you said for once especially all the fighters you just reeled off. Kudos!
