Horn Targets WBA champ Brant

By Ray Wheatley – World of Boxing

WBO #9 middleweight Jeff Horn has targeted WBA middleweight champion Rob Brant and the Australian’s promoter Dean Lonergan has already started negotiations with the world champion’s management. ”We thought Jeff went really well at the higher weight (against Mundine). We’ve only just started discussions. Rob won well on the weekend, he won in the eleventh round but dominated the whole fight,” Lonergan told the Sydney Morning Herald. “We think it’s a great style for Jeff and would make for one hell of a fight. He’s an incredibly busy fighter and it just comes down to whether we can make the deal work. In a perfect world, we would do it in Australia but we’ll see what happens.

“We’ve got a great relationship with Top Rank. Bob knows that when we make the phone call we are serious and want to get a deal done. Bob has a lot of television dates to fill now so we’ll try and put things together as quickly as we possibly can,” Lonergan stated.
