Boxing Buzz

Ring legend Manny Pacquiao is losing big in the Philippines presidential polls, but has vowed to stay in the race. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., son of the late dictator, has a commanding lead.

Triller announced that David Tetreault will join Triller Fight Club as President.

Speaking of Triller, it looks like the February 26 Triad Combat II clash between former heavyweight title challenger Kubrat ‘The Cobra’ Pulev and former UFC champion Junior dos Santos has suddenly disappeared from their schedule.

Probellum announced the signing of WBO #5 middleweight Danny Dignum (14-0-1, 8 KOs), who retained his WBO Euro title last Friday in London.

  • Reminds me of Canada. Canadians see Pierre Trudeau as a tyrant…… so they vote in his kid
Now he is acting like a tyrant

    • Well said! BTW, Our country is capable of the same; Re-electing Trump and then electing his son! Chaos and corruption has no boundaries!

      • Both, Borimex and Shawn don’t know nothing about Canada. I live here, they call tyrany just to mandate a vaccine certificate and wear mask ( temporarily) while the peak of Omicron variant easy, which is happening now thanks to those mandates. It’s tyrany to live in a country with free speech and protest rights? Free medical attention to everyone and free medicine for seniors?
More than a thousand dollars for each kid under 18? Program for immigrants that include housing, food and money? And much more an more benefits. Trudeau was elected in a well organized election, decent and civilized, not like the mess in USA.
        IGNORANTS

        • Let’s keep this about boxing! Keep your stupid ignorant politics out of this boxing forum bozo. There’s no room for foolish political garbage here. Drama queen.

      • HAHAHAHAH Biden is a thousand times more authoritarian than Trump will ever be, along with every other scumbag democrat. They are TRASH!

      • BoriMex, I totally agree. Look at the chaos and corruption of our current administration. It’s pure insanity!

    • Do you have ANY idea who Ferdinand Marcos was and what he did to the Phillipines?
Aside from stealing between 5 and 10 billion USD from the Phillipines, he had the Phillipines under Martial Law for damn near a decade, had his political opposition put in jail, had 3,257 people murdered and 35,000 tortured.
I get that you’re pissed off at Justin Trudeau, but maybe do a little research so that you know what you are talking about when you dare to compare him to a monster like Ferdinand Marcos.

      • And despite that, the Filipino people will likely democratically elect his son. The people always get the gov’t they deserve. I know we sure do here in the United States.

  • Wow. Marcos Jr? A corrupt dictator’s son is going to lead the country? Hope he didn’t learn the politics from his mom & dad.

  • Of course… They want him to fight and get his title back not be the President.
Surely Paq is getting a wakeup call his people dont share his ideals. He thought the people liked him when they were only around because he was handing out free money.
Paq is too nice and would give the country’s resources away to the lesser countries.

    • Lol nice fantasy you have there. Philipines is in dire need of a “nice president”. You thinking he would give everything away is just fantasy, no facts.

Your post getting 10 upvotes is even more worrisome. Are people actually that easily influenced?

      Crazy to think about.

  • Pac was a great fighter and seems like a genuinely nice guy out of the ring. However, he really doesn’t come across as the sharpest knife in the drawer. I would guess his presidency would be slightly less successful than his singing career.

    • Yes, Willis, I agree. Pac is not a politician, but rather a start athlete. It appears the voters know the difference as well if the reports are accurate.

    • He’s actually very intelligent. Just not while talking English. In his filipino talks he’s a whole different person. Look for them with subtitles and you’ll see a different side. The man is very intelligent and well spoken. He just sucks at English (or engrish)

  • Pacman vs Bong Bong, looks like bing bong will win by KO.
How long before pac is back in the ring

  • Ah such nostalgia. Imelda Marcos (who is still alive) will be back in Malacañang Palace, the Philippines version of the White House. The more things change, the more they stay the same.

  • Pacman seems like a nice guy and wants to do as much as he can for his country but really isn’t President material. Reminds me of when Hogan was trying to become President.

    • He is though. You only know his English speaking side lol. Have you followed his philipines carreer step by step? If not, why would you say this? He can’t speak english so it looks like he doesn’t know what to say, that’s why you need to check his native video’s. He’s perfect president material. The world needs intelligent nice guys as presidents. Then we can finally get rid of corruption and other misery. Although that will never happen, as it’s a “old boys network” everywhere. As you can see in this article.

  • I don’t think Manny has enough connections in the underworld to make a significant splash in the dirty world of politics.

Even if he were to win, the results would reflect otherwise.

Here’s an idea: 1 street fight, winner take all. PPV $100. All proceeds to be donated to a real charity.
