Boxer, trainer exchange punches

By Ogi Georgiev

Yesterday there was a very strange moment at the end of the fight between light heavyweights Spas Genov (10-0, 8 KOs) and Levon Shonia (15-12, 11 KOs) on the Pulev-Fury undercard in Sofia, Bulgaria. When the bell rang at the end of the sixth and final round, Shonia didn’t want to stop the fight. Initially the fight had been scheduled for eight rounds, but was changed at the last moment to six rounds. Alekseis Kosobokovs, the trainer of Shonia, probably forgot to tell his boxer about the change. Shonia was very unhappy and went on to take a swing at his own trainer, who slapped him back!
