By Ray Wheatley — World of Boxing

Former WBC super middleweight champion Sakio “The Scorpion” Bika (33-7-3, 22 KOs) stopped Luke Sharp (14-6-3, 6 KOs) at the Fraternity club, Fairy Meadow, New South Wales, Australia on Saturday. The referee called the fight off in round seven of the scheduled twelve round bout. Bika captured the WBC Asian Council Continental title.

Bika’s previous bout was a world title fight where he lost a twelve round decision to WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson in 2015.

He captured the WBC super middleweight crown by defeating Marco Antonio Periban in 2013.

Bika challenged Andre Ward in 2010 and Joe Calzaghe in 2006 unsuccessful in world title bouts but gave them very tough fights.

Sharp’s previous bout was an eight round points decision loss to Reagan Dessaix in March.
