WBC champion Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder (40-0, 39 KOs) of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and lineal champion Tyson “Gypsy King” Fury (27-0, 19 KOs) of England met again Wednesday afternoon at the NOVU at LA Live as they wrapped up their press conference tour for their anticipated December 1 showdown. Wilder and Fury will clash at the Staples Center in Los Angeles for Wilder’s WBC heavyweight title live on Showtime PPV.
Here’s what the fighters had to say.
Deontay Wilder: “This is going to be a great fight. I really, really want to hurt him. The heavyweight division is alive again. I will make sure you all get your moneys worth.”
Tyson Fury: “It feels good to be back. I’m ready to fight and I can’t wait. I’m welcoming Wilder to big time boxing. I think Deontay is a great guy and amazing person. He’s evolved over the years and become a better fighter. He knows he can’t beat me. I will beat Wilder and cement my legacy.”
This wrapped up the three city press tour which began Monday in London and continued Tuesday in New York, making its final stop in Los Angeles. This will also be the first heavyweight title fight in Los Angeles since 2009 Vitali Klitschko vs. Chris Arreola at Staples Center.
