Villasana Jr edges Vicente in Ixtapa

Marcos Villasana Jr (23-6, 13 KOs) retained his WBC regional lightweight title via split decision over previously unbeaten Pablo Vicente (12-1, 10 KOs) in Ixtapa Zihuatanejo, Mexico. Villasana, son of the former WBC featherweight champion Marcos Villasana, prevailed 114-112, 115-112 on two cards and Vicente was up 114-113 on the third card.
