Alvarado KOs Petalcorin to win IBF flyweight title

In a firefight for the vacant IBF light flyweight title, Felix Alvarado (34-2, 30 KOs) scored a seventh round KO over Randy Petalcorin (29-3-1, 22 KOs) on Monday night at the Midas Hotel and Casino in Manila, Philippines. Alvarado was very aggressive and was often able to push Petalcorin to the ropes where both traded big shots. Alvarado’s relentless attack finally paid dividends in round seven when his body shots dropped Petalcorin three times to end it! Time was 2:04.

WBO Oriental flyweight titleholder Giemel Magramo (22-1, 18 KOs) scored a third round KO over Petchchorchae Kokietgym (17-2, 8 KOs). A body shot finished Kokietgym. Time was 2:48.

Unbeaten flyweight Dave “Doberman” Apolinario (9-0, 6 KOs) needed just 67 seconds to take down Joan Imperial (14-8-6, 9 KOs). A bodyshot ended it.
