2012 Olympic bronze medalist, 5’11” southpaw Satoshi Shimizu, 126, Japan, extended his unblemished mark to 7-0, 7 KOs when he finally caught up with game compatriot challenger Shingo Mukai (15-5-1, 8 KOs), 126, and halted him at 2:43 of the fourth round in a scheduled twelve.

Nicknamed “Diamond Left”, WBC/IBF#6 Shimizu showed his trademark tricky mobility and solid punches upstairs and downstairs so that he effectively weakened the willing mixer Kawamura from Osaka. The lanky Shimizu’s long left cross buckled the challenger’s knees and had him kneel down on the canvas. The southpaw Shimizu’s follow-up logically prompted the referee’s intervention. Though he is 32 years of age, Shimizu will fight for a world belt by the end of the next year.

Promoter: Ohashi Promotions.
