Boyd, Telford, Meehan Victorious

Unbeaten Sydney based featherweight Luke Boyd (5-0, 5 KOs) stopped Tanawat Phonnaku (31-11-1, 19 KOs) in round one of a scheduled ten round WBF Silver International title bout at the Roma Function Centre, Liverpool, NSW, Australia on Friday. Boyd is a former Australian super-bantamweight champion.

In other action, light middleweight Ty Telford (4-0, 1 KO) edged Ruben Webster (8-2) over eight rounds with the WBF Australasian title up for grabs.

Also, southpaw heavyweight prospect Willis Meehan (6-0, 5 KOs) stopped Fijian Jonas Kavika (4-1, 2 KOs) in round two of a scheduled eight round WBF Australasian championship bout. Meehan, 22 years of age, is the son of former WBO heavyweight challenger Kali Meehan.

Heavyweight Danny Rio (3-2-1, 3 KOs) stopped Wade Hatch (1-3) in round one of a scheduled four.
