Acosta retains WBO 108lb world title

WBO light flyweight world champion Angel “Tito” Acosta (18-1, 18 KOs) retained his title with a twelfth round TKO over challenger Carlos “Chocorroncito” Buitrago (30-4-1, 17 KOs) on Saturday night at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico Center in Hato Rey, Puerto Rico. After Acosta dropped Buitrago in the final stanza, referee Luis Pabon stepped in to save Buitrago from further punishment. Time was 1:43.
