Argentine contender Javier Nicholas Chacon (25-3-1, 7 KOs) and American referee Tony Weeks arrived in Accra, Ghana this week as part of what looks to be one of the biggest fights to take place in Ghana in years. Chacon will take on undefeated WBO International junior featherweight champion Isaac Dogboe (16-0, 10 KOs), who is ranked #4 at 122-pounds by the WBO, for Dogboe’s belt.
Dogboe is looking to close out 2017 with a world title fight and it is assumed that a dominant win over Chacon is the final hurdle he needs to overcome in his quest for a world title fight.
The Dogboe-Chacon fight is to take place this Saturday on July 22nd. The card will take place at the Bukom Boxing Arena in Accra, Ghana with the first of five undercard fight slated to kick off at 6pm. Tickets start at GH¢20 with VIP going for GH¢300.
