It looked like it might be a short night when Kauffman dropped Alexander in round one with a big right hand. Alexander returned the favor floored Kauffman with a left hook at the end of the round. Surprisingly, the bout went the distance with scores of 95-95, 96-94, 96-94 for Kauffman.

Former heavyweight title challenger Gerald “El Gallo Negro” Washington (19-2-1, 12 KOs) scored a workmanlike ten round unanimous decision over Wes Nofire (20-2, 16 KOs). \

Washington tried to bum rush Nofire in round one. When that didn’t work, they settled in for the long haul. Scores were 98-91, 97-92, 97-92. Nofire was deducted a point by the referee in the seventh round for excessive holding.
