Former WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr said on social media that there’s a possibility of him returning in 2017 against former world title challenger Martin Murray in October at super middleweight. Murray responded and said he wants the fight. Las Vegas and Texas were floated as possible locations.

Junior is coming off a disappointing catch-weight loss to archrival Saul “Canelo” Alvarez on May 6 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. After that bout, Chavez stated he was weight-drained and had no energy.
