Rigondeaux-Solis in trouble?

By Gabriel F. Cordero

A source has reported that the WBA bantamweight world title fight scheduled for Saturday between former world champions Guillermo Rigondeaux and Liborio Solis could be postponed due to visa issues with Solis, a Venezualan who has resided in Panama for many years. He has fought in Monte Carlo (twice) and Japan in recent years.

If things get worked out, Rigondeaux-Solis is scheduled to be the co-feature at the Toyota Arena in Ontario, California, underneath the WBC super welterweight title fight between Tony Harrison and Jermell Charlo. Otherwise, the bout would be pushed to next year.

  • I don’t get it! Rigo, the much smaller much older fighter, moved up two weight classes face the much bigger Loma and people acted like Loma beat King Kong! Amazing how this hof overachieving great fighter has been disrespected. Disgusting

      • — He’s trying to say Rigormortis only fights little fights and was finally forced into a big fight to payoff his overseers for buying his contract from Arum.

That’s the reason Rigo wasn’t in the WBSS with Nonito and Monster.

Nonito already knocked him down Twice to no credit…Rigormortis, alas, we scarcely heard more than muted golden whispers…Nevermore…
