  • This is the first in a while a name fighter is actually fighting on an undercard ? Everyone has such a big ego and fights each time as a ‘main-go.’ Whereupon, once or twice per year they see action. Willie Pep had 30 straight bouts in 2 years beginning six months after a broken leg and cracked two vertebrae. No ‘elite’ boxer fights on each other’s undercard as a collaborative, whereby, would triple their income, brand and fan base. Copyright 2019 Coach Hilario

    • I wouldnt call Hurd a name fighter. He had little momentum going into to his challenge against another young lion. He lost that fight and hardly ever been mentioned since. Pulled out the rematch. His ego and fight placement seems to be right where it should be.

  • If Hurd will face Santana at the Jr. Middleweight limit (154),why he didn’t rematch Julian Williams ? What was the reason the fight fell through?
The only thing I know is that the cancellation was sugarcoated citing Hurd not longer could make 154, but other sources were citing Williams and his team were requesting a VADA testing for the fight, being the answer from Hurd’s side the cancellation of the fight. Who knows the truth?
Was Hurd afraid to face Williams again or afraid of the testing? What about afraid of both?

  • I am not sure how to react to this yes Hurd is an exciting fighter comes to fight but he seemed to take the loss to Williams hard they were set to rematch he pulled out this was after an already very long delay.

Then he sits in idle says on Instagram he is going back to his roots where it all started I feel like that loss mentally beat him down more than anything you would think he would want to get right back at it right away.

  • I am still reeling in about Garcia even getting a title-challenge eliminating fight. What a joke.

  • Hurd got beat at his own game last time around. He’s supposed to be the guy walking through guys and overpowering them. J Rock took that away standing toe-to-toe as the better and stronger inside fighter. You gotta wonder how good can his confidence be going forward. Hurd not gonna out box anybody.
