Raquinel upsets Frank in Mexico

The 12 round main event saw Jayr Raquinel (17-2-1, 13 KOs) of the Philippines scored an upset unanimous decision of previously unbeaten local Yahir Frank (17-1,12 KOs) Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico. The southpaw Raquinel came out immediately with a series of power punches to control the first half of round 1. Frank responded with his own in round 2. Raquinel then adjusted and begain to time the Frank rushes and was able to counter comfortably . Frank would have his moments the second half of the fight but Raquinel was in control. In the end the judges scored it 117-111, 116—112, and 115-113 all in favor to Frank who won the WBC Continental Americas Super Flyweight title.
