“King” Ryan Garcia (23-1, 19 KOs) and knockout artist Oscar “La Migraña” Duarte (26-1-1, 21 KOs) of Parral, Mexico hosted a press conference today ahead of their 12-round, super lightweight collision. The fight will take place at Toyota Center in Houston, Texas on December 2 and broadcasted worldwide on DAZN.
Ryan Garcia: At this new weight I feel more confident, just stronger and just more aware…if I expect to become a champion, I can’t take easy fights and think that’s going get me there. So, I knew that Oscar was a challenge. He’s fast. He’s strong. He’s got good timing. So it just made sense for me, you know, this fight, to show what I could do to prepare me for the bigger fights.”
Oscar Duarte: “Come December 2, I’m going to win and I’m going to be the next idol in Mexican boxing with the preparation that I am doing. I have a big rival in front of me, I have an incredible team behind me. They are my strength, and I am ready for the big challenges ahead of me. This is my best moment for me not only physically but mentally too.”
I go for Duarte
He is from my town and I think he is too strong and agressive for Brayan
Duarte Tko late rounds
Duarte needs to press the action onto Kingry and force openings. Kingry’s chin is suspect, and this tactic could push a TKO victory for Duarte.
Man I tell ya if KingRy loses this, the boy needs to find a new career. And the matchmaker for Golden Boy needs to reevaluate his life choices.
Rooting for Duarte is this one……
Ryan’s a got a glass stomach!
Ryan is talking about not taking easy fights as if he has a choice. After his KO loss to Tank and the way Oscar left him hanging post-fight- and sued him there is no more protection. Golden Boy knows Ryan is probably going to leave after his contract expires so they are going to cash out by putting on the biggest fights possible. If he wins this fight, he might be able to get Rolly. That is the easiest route for him to win a belt unless he gets caught. As for this fight, its guaranteed to end in KO as both have something to prove. I can’t wait for this one!!!
Duarte is moving from 135 to 140 to fight Ryan but I still think Duarte might upset the fight
So is Ryan Carlos. this should be a good scrap.
Yeah, but is not the same Ryan already fought in 140 pounds and Duarte is first fight at 140
At least Ryan Garcia is familiar with the 140 lbs yes
superhype KOs this dude then hopefully gets to fight and KO Haney and then Shakira Stevensen but i bet both them will duck Superhype
