Horn-Zerafa Rematch Wednesday

By Ray wheatley – World of Boxing

WBA #7 middleweight Michael Zerafa (27-3, 16 KOs) is confident he will defeat former WBO welterweight champion Jeff Horn (19-2-1, 13 KOs) again when they clash in a rematch on Wednesday at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre in Brisbane, Australia on Foxtel Main Event Pay-Per-View.

Zerafa is upset that he could not have the opportunity to challenge Ryota Murata for the WBA middleweight crown because he was contractually obligated to give Horn the rematch.

”Now it’s just become personal because he stopped me from making more money with better fights,” Zerafa told Sporting News. “Now it’s his funeral. It’s just made me hate Jeff Horn. Now I see his true colors. I will end Jeff Horn’s career this time.”

Horn promised to be in the best fight shape of his career, unlike their first fight where he was stopped by Zerafa in the ninth round.

“I was a little bit guilty of cutting corners the last time, little things that made me mentally underestimate Zerafa. It was embarrassing. I definitely didn’t fight the way I normally do. Now I have a hunger. To get that win back and a world title after that would be great.”

Oddsmakers have Zerafa a -350 favorite to beat Horn again.

  • Horn needs to be KTFO again! He has no right to be at middleweight also at getting this rematch.
    Zerafa in 2!

    • If it goes the 12rds Horn will get the decision because of the pay off judges. Zerafa needs to go in for the kill and win this by KO to have any chance.

  • Hmmm sorry Michael, but after accidently killing your sparring partner in the build up, I think maybe you should drop the funeral rhetoric. Having said that, I hope you win, as I’ve about had enough of Mr Horn & his team. Their pathetic excuses when he loses & inflated opinion of both his abilities & who he deserves to fight has gone beyond tiresome.

  • yep funeral comment zeraaa has an inner tube for a brain hate dumb asses like him crawl back under your rock

  • Here we go again! Horn is having another delusional episode he can be a (paper) champion again. Good grief. Horn should give it up and go back to being a school teacher he once was. Save your brains for more constructive things in life.

  • Lets see if he can land half as many punches as Zerafa while trying to headbutt, elbow, hold and, forearm his way out of this one.

  • I still have a good laugh at Horn’s people who think he is a boxing legend for beating Pacquiao. Somehow they cannot get past the biggest hometown decision in boxing history.

    • After an independent panel of judges review of the Horn v Pac-Man fight and that THEIR conclusion was Horn won… how can you say that it was a hometown decision? The panel consisted of people from other countries other than Australia.
Fact is a fact…on that day Manny lost. On any other day Manny would of beat him, but on that day he lost

  • Zerafa may have made that comment about Horn’s funeral before his friend died. I saw that line from an Oct. 2nd 2019 line about the funeral talk. Dwight Ritchie died on Nov 9th. I read about this. Zerafa gets a total of $160,000 AU for 2 fights with Horn, hardly enough to buy a house. And he would have gotten $800,000 AU to fight in Japan against Murata (enough to pocket out of that to put a good down payment on a nice house). Zerafa should get offers for a WBA or WBO title fight at 160 if he does it again to Horn. Horn almost got stopped by Pacquiao in his home outdoor stadium. Horn is prone to cut, if he cuts early, loads of trouble in 2nd fight with Zerafa. Horn acted like he wanted to win round 12 vs Pacquiao, but it was pretty ineffective aggressiveness, his arms weren’t zeroing the fists in on hitting the target the way he wanted them to. He was spent in the 12th, the 12th vs Pacquiao was a pretty even round. Horn landed one pretty good right hand at 1:55 of round 12 against Pacquiao, but I think he probably would have been lucky to get a draw at most other places, besides Brisbane, against Pacquiao.

  • One reason why I want to accomplish certain things because horn did not deserve to be world champion because he did not beat Pacman and he is also an Olympian come on reminds of Julio indongo how the hell he become a world champion.
