Gonzalez targets Berchelt

By Gabriel F. Cordero

Former two-division world champion Jhonny Gonzalez (63-10, 53 KOs) faces Jessie Rosales on Saturday and expects a good win to lay his claim to challenge to beat current WBC super featherweight champion Miguel Berchelt.

“I’m going to prove that I’m ready for the title shot and after this victory will be a formal challenge for the champion,” said Gonzalez. “I had a very strong preparation and I feel able to beat Berchelt. I’m now focused on Jessie, who is a fighter who is undefeated but I’m going to look for a great victory to seize an opportunity for the championship.”
