  • Bivol looks a lot bigger. I wonder what the odd makers will place both men, because this is the very first time that Canelo will face an extremely dangerous guy that still on is primes, and we can say the same about Bivol. Very interesting fight, though. I hope its happens

    • Not very dangerous in terms of punching power but Bivol is good in every department of the boxing game. He has good footwork, a very good job, excellent timing, a good chin, he’s durable and is hungry.
Could give the fans a great fight, I still give Canelo the edge. Can’t wait !

    • Canelo is a 4-1 favorite. Makes you want to jump all over Bivol but he doesn’t have the power to KO Alvarez and he probably has to win 8 rounds to get a draw.

    • First time facing someone dangerous? Really? Damn, That is a ridiculous comment. You need to review Canelos resume a little more closely.

    • Jose, this is a dumb ignorant comment. Bivol is dangerous and may even be more dangerous than Beterbiev.

Your the kind of person that if Canelo cleans out the division will say still make foolish comments about Canelo and say he is scared of fighting Fury. Preposterous comments from ignorant people. You will never be satisfied like a whining chick!

      • Um Jose is actually correct! So you mean fighting Plant and not fighting Benavidez and/or Charlo is going after the best or most dangerous?? What about Kovakev?? Dude was completely shot and that’s who he went after? And @54 & 60 with the exception of GGG it didn’t seem like he went after the best. He clearly took a page from Mayweather and you know it!!!!!

        • When you actually come to realize boxing is a business first, sport second, you’ll understand these moves. Canelo, like Mayweather has come from very a humble place, yet have become very wealthy and so have many others connected to them. Afterall it is prize fighting.

        • Borimex- werent u one of the ones that was talking crap when Canelo was gonna fight Plant saying why is he taking lesser opposition. He should be fighting Beterbiev or Bivol. Why the change of heart? Or is it jus permanent hate for Canelo? Get over it my dude.

      • Im curious why you think Bivol is more dangerous than Beterbiev? Bivol has a 58% KO ratio while Beterbiev has 100% KO ratio. Its not even close as to who is the more dangerous fight. Your comment s are ignorant not Jose’s or it could be youre just a casual boxing fan

      • Carlos, u cant win with these trolls bro. If it was Beterbiev that he was fighting, the comments wld be “Beterbiev is too old and hes afraid to fight a younger and hungry Bivol”. These fools are just dumb bro. Bivol is a bad A$$ fighter and its gonna be an amazing fight!

        • Tony. You are absolutely correct. These guys bashing on Canelo are just like sleazy whores who are never satisfied. Canelo may even actually lose to Bivol what these boneheads don’t understand is 100% KO ratio doesn’t mean that he’s better than someone with a 58% KO ratio. I remember the beast Mugabi knocked almost everyone out then ran into Hagler and was taken to school.

So you slutty fickle haters out there get your panties out of that bunch already!

  • Bivol EASY…I predict Canola will pull out, or be humiliated. Watch Smith/Hopkins then Bivol/Smith…nuff said

  • Almost sure that Bivol, being russian, will not be allow to fight. Maybe except If he talk very clear about to be against the Putin war.

    • PSG, According to the gods of boxing, as long as he doesn’t come out with the Russian flag it will be fine.

  • For canelo haters

If canelo wins nobody Can denied canelo reputation as a boxer

If canelo lose then haters will multiply

If they tie then nothing will happen cause bivol is big and dangerous

Some people would prefer charlo Benavides or Andrade

But all these 3 together can’t best canelo

Just bivol and beterbiev Can beat canelo

    • Nobody is a hater. Bivol CAN’T beat Canelo and everyone knows it. He is bigger and lacks experience.

Yes, the public would rather see Canelo fight KNOWN fighters win, lose or draw than these stiff nobody knows. How is that hating?

    • Not hating on Canelo but I question why a 3rd fight with GGG? Judging from GGG’s last 3 fights and recent inactivity, it’s clear his boxing skills, speed and punch output have declined drastically. Contrary to what other fans say It will not be a competitive fight. This trilogy is 3 years too late. As a long time boxing fan I would rather see Canelo face Beterbiev or Andrade after Bivol and then Benavidez when he is mandatory for Canelo. These fights by far would shut up the critics. Facing GGG just makes it look more like he is cherry picking

      • I agree Beto. GGG is old and simply doesnt deserve a 3rd fight. He cld have done so much more in boxing by unifying with Charlo or Andrade. Instead he sat around and pouted for a rematch when he clearly shld have given D’chenko a rematch since he got lit up shld have lost that fight. I guess that DAZN money was convincing

  • If Canelo beats Bivol, I will never doubt him again. Bivol is a bigger triple G with better boxing skills.

    • No, he’s not, he’s a big stiff that lacks experience. Canelo is going to run through him like diarrhea.

    • Not even close to the power of GGG, but faster, bigger and very skilled. Very tough fight for both fighters.

  • Bivol is the height of Plant, but a much better boxer and bigger puncher. He’s also stronger with a better chin. Full credit to Canelo for taking this bout, but he was cornered into it IMO. With no script, Canelo cannot win this fight.

  • Not a fan of Canelo but now he’s shown he’s a true warrior…this fight will showcase Canelo’s skillset & hopefully be his greatest moment in defeating Bivol in his prime

  • Bivol clearly the bigger man, but sometimes that works for the better smaller fighter. Duran/Barkley, Sugar Ray/ Donny Lalonde, Jones Jr/Ruiz, Hearns/Hill, Toney/Holyfield, Moseley/DelaHoya to name a few. I know some of you are high on Bivol but exactly who has he beat?

    • You mentioned some great examples of the smaller boxer getting the best out of the bigger boxer. In terms of counterpunching, speed and footwork were the most notable advantages. I can see Canelo using these as well to frustrate and get a decision win over Bivol who has not faced a boxer with Canelo’s skillset and experience

  • In recent fights, Bivol has resembled a light heavyweight version of former IBF lightweight champion Miguel “Titere” Vazquez.

  • dont think Bivols size matters
he is clearly the best opponent at a higher weight that Canelo would have faced.
I think its 50 / 50 both have tremendous power and skill

  • Bivol will win. Watching Canelo against his 2 last guys , it was obvious that he has trouble against skilled movers. Bivol is more skilled, tougher, stronger and a better puncher than both Plant and Saunders. Add to that the fact that Bivol seems to have a very good chin. Big puncher Smith hit him with a full blooded shot after the bell, which he was not prepared for, and he stayed on his feet.

      • My thought exactly. Bivol needs to dominate this fight to have a chance on the scorecard. He won’t win a competitive fight that goes the distance.

  • I’m stocked about this one !
Bivol is a hell of a fighter and is good in every department of the boxing game. He has a great job, great footwork, great timing, has a good chin and is durable.
Can’t wait till Cinco de Mayo, I still give the edge to Canelo we’ll see..

  • Stocked about this fight but would’ve preferred Beterbiev as an opponent but like GGG, Canelo won’t fight him until he’s 40 years old. That’s why I don’t rate Canelo in my top five best Mexican fighters ever, Sal Sanchez didn’t hesitate one second before signing the fight with one of the P4P hardest punchers ever Wilfredo Gomez..
But I give Canelo his props because Bivol is at his peak and won’t be an easy fight.

  • Some of you folks on here are straight hypocrites, i swear. Just last year when Canelo was running thru the SMW division ( after Kov) most EVERYONE was bashing him saying he shld fight Beterbiev or Bivol and that Kov was the weakest champ in the LHW. Now hes fighting Bivol and u guys are still talking crap. Ur not boxing fans OR even casuals. Ur jus Canelo trolls. Sheesh man. Ridiculous
