European light heavyweight champion Dominic Boesel (28-1, 10 KOs) retained his blue EBU belt by twelve round unanimous decision over mandatory challenger Enrico Koelling (26-3, 8 KOs) in a grudge match on Saturday night at the Stadthalle in Weissenfels, Germany. Boesel outboxed Koelling for the first half of the fight. Koelling tried to break down Boesel to the body and came on strong late (a strategy used successfully by Karo Murat against Boesel last year). In the end, Boesel prevailed 115–113, 118-111, 116-113.
