Baranchyk wins IBF jr welter title

In a clash for the vacant IBF junior welterweight title, Ivan Baranchyk (19-0, 12 KOs) stopped Anthony Yigit (21-1-1, 7 KOs) after seven rounds on Saturday night in a World Boxing Super Series 140lb quarterfinal at the U.N.O. Lakefront Arena in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Relentless Baranchyk broke down Yigit, whose left eye was swollen shut midway through the fight. Baranchyk was deducted a point for holding down Yigit’s head in round seven. The bout was stopped by the ring doctor following the round, much to Yigit’s disgust.
