Gaibnazarov gets quick win in Kazakhstan

Coming off his first pro loss against 6′3½ Mykal Fox back in May, 2016 Olympic gold medalist Fazliddin Gaibnazarov (8-1, 5 KOs) made quick work of late sub Vladyslav Baranov (6-6-2, 4 KOs) in a super lightweight bout on Monday night at the Baluan Sholak Sports Palace in Almaty, Kazakhstan. Gaibnazarov finished Baranov with a body shot in the first round.

In the main event, WBC International lightweight beltholder Viktor Kotochigov (11-0, 4 KOs) scored a one-sided ten round unanimous decision over Javier Jose Clavero (27-6, 5 KOs) Kotochigov was in command all the way en route to 100-90 shutout on all three cards.

Unbeaten junior lightweight Sultan Zaurbek (9-0, 7 KOs) was victorious when Leshan Li (16-4-2, 9 KOs) couldn’t continue after round four. Zaurbek claimed the vacant WBC Youth super featherweight title.

In an upset, bantamweight Thomas Essomba (10-5, 4 KOs), who had lost four of his previous five, scored a third round TKO over previously unbeaten prospect Iskander Kharsan (7-1, 6 KOs). Essomba dropped Kharsan three times.
