WBA female 102-pound regular champ Monserrat Alarcon (13-4-2, no KO), 100.5, Mexico, impressively unified the WBA belts as she defeated WBA interim titlist Ayaka Miyao (23-8-1, 6 KOs), also 100.5, Japan, by a split decision (98-92, 96-94 for Alarcon, 94-96 for Miyao) over ten hard-fought rounds on Thursday in Tokyo, Japan. Alarcon forced the footworker Miyao to mix it up and connected with good shots with precision.
