Ximenez headlines historic Dallas show

Blue Chip Promotions, in association with Montoya Boxing Gym, plans to make history July 28th for “The Rumble in the Park.” Main Street Garden Park, at 1902 Main Street, hosts what they say will be the first outdoor boxing event in Dallas history.

Featherweight Ray Ximenez Jr (17-1, 4 KOs) headlines the night’s festivities in his hometown, fighting for the WBC (USNBC) title.

Also featured are super bantamweight Jesse Angel Hernandez (11-1, 7 KOs) coming off an exciting victory on “ShoBox,” Roy Jones Jr. super featherweight prospect Ed Vazquez (5-0, 0 KOs), and lightweight Crescencio “Kid Thunder” Ramos (10-1, 4 KOs), who returns after a year layoff. Opponents are TBA.

“We strive to promote action-packed events with boxing’s young prospects that are the future of the sport,” said Montoya Boxing Gym owner Michael A. Montoya. “We are excited to partner with The City of Dallas, Statler Hotel, Metro PCS, Uno Por Favor TEQUILA and Ruibal’s Nursery and Plants for The Rumble in the Park.”

The Statler Hotel, title sponsor for the event, is an iconic and luxurious hotel of mid-twentieth century design located in Downtown Dallas adjacent to Main Street Garden Park.

“The Rumble in the Park” tickets can be purchased at Prekindle.com and Montoya Boxing Gym, 7711 Military Parkway in Dallas. Tickets start at $25.
