Yildirim edges Mock in WBC eliminator

In a WBC super middleweight eliminator, Avni Yildirim (21-1, 12 KOs) scored a close majority decision over 46-year-old veteran Lolenga Mock (42-15-1, 13 KOs) on Saturday night at the Friedrich-Ebert-Halle in Ludwigshafen, Germany. A first round knockdown by Yildirim made the difference in a 113-112, 113-113, 116-111 majority decision. Yildirim now presumably gets a shot at WBC champion David Benavidez

Former WBA super middleweight champion Vincent Feigenbutz (28-3, 26 KOs) scored a sixth round TKO over late sub Yusuf Kanguel (16-2-1, 10 KOs). Kanguel was Feigenbutz’ second replacement opponent. The ex-champ was originally supposed to face Toni Kraft, who pulled out with an injury. Then Ronny Mittag was to step in, but he got sick.
