Valdez talks Canelo-GGG, his career, future

By Hesiquio Balderas

Upon his arrival in Mexico, Oscar Valdez the current WBO featherweight world champion talked to the Mexican media about the upcoming fight between Canelo and Golovkin scheduled for September 15 in Las Vegas Nevada.

“Canelo has all the tools to beat GGG,” said Valdez. “I’m not saying this because I will now train with Eddy Reynoso. I’m saying it as I said it before the first fight. I am team Canelo and I know that Canelo is a great boxer, a great fighter.”

Regarding his current status, Valdez stated, “My jaw is healed completely. I will have a new evaluation by the doctor and I’m certain that I’ll get the green light to start training and sparring.”

“I would love to face the best in my division. There’s Gary Russell, Carl Frampton, Leo Santa Cruz and I want to unify the division. Then I want to move up a weight class, but I leave that to my manager Frank Espinoza who guides my career. I only train and fight. Whatever he decides I will do,” concluded Valdez.
