Spence Jr. will finally break silence on accident

Since his horrific single-car accident that took place on October 10, WBC and IBF welterweight champion Errol “The Truth” Spence Jr. has been laying very low. The official statement on Spence’s condition was that “he did not sustain any broken bones or fractures, but has some facial lacerations and is expected to make a full recovery.” Some, including promoter Bob Arum, have said Spence’s injuries may be more serious. On tonight’s Harrison-Charlo II telecast on FOX, we should know more as Spence will give his first interview since the accident.

  • We can all agree one thing; Spence learned his lesson on seatbelt use and leave driving a fast car to the real professionals. Drive it with respect or park it!

    • How did he learn his lesson about seatbelts? He has no broken bones. We have no way to determine whether he would be any better off if he was belted in especially the way that car flipped multiple times. For all anyone knows he could have ended up worse off being stuck in there.

  • Spence should give up the belt, get well soon. WBC/IBF should give the belts to Porter or make the Crawford vs Porter worth wild and and the winner gets the belts.

    • Seems like Porter has fought for a title 50x (snicker). Anybody new instead of watching Porter’s boring style slapping punches and holding all the time?

    • The only fight out there for Crawford is Porter and I like it. Spence is Broken (that accident took way more that a knockout out of him; He will never be same. Thurman is Broken. The only guys left are Pac (wont touch Crawford) and Garcia (Porter beat him pretty bad). Porter v. Crawford is a good fight.

    • you don’t give the belts to anybody you have to win them and that’s part of the problem with boxing today is giving belts to fighters

  • I think if Spence would have wore his seat belt, he would have been stuck inside car and could have died. Not wearing seat belt ejected him from car and saved him more from anymore of what the car kept tumbling.

    • You might be right there!!! I had a car accident and had my seat belt on was still ejected with seat belt still attached…for sure saved my life being ejected I should be dead so I think you are right on !!!

    • I agree with Steve. If Spence was belted in at Least one of those flips would have resulted in serious or even fatal head injury. Seatbelts are great in theory but sometimes they can keep you in place exposing you to the odds of fatal impact. which usually is the case in flipping over in a convertible.

  • He said he is a beast. He is superhuman. He should start training to face the real champ at welterweight: Terrence Crawford.
