David Melgoza (6-0) led a sweep of local boxers by dominating Brandon Adams (4-10-1) of Oakland in their welterweight main event Friday night at Sacramento’s Doubletree Hotel. The judges’ scores over the six rounds were 58-56, 60-54 and 59-55.

Promoter Nasser Navaroni’s prospects-themed show, in a ballroom setting and preceded by five amateur bouts, produced three other Sacramento area winners. Light middleweight Ruben Torres (4-1) prevailed by a four-round unanimous decision over Donnis Reed (3-6) of Lemon Grove and light welterweight William Villa (4-0) won all four rounds against Dave Minter (2-1) of Lincoln.

Local featherweight Malikai Johnson (6-0-1) of Elk Grove won by a first-round stoppage over Cristian Renteria (8-10) of Mexico. Middleweight Anthony Hernandez (3-2) of Live Oak posted a four-round split decision over Lyntai Earnest (1-1) of Stockton, although two judges scored it a shutout victory.
