Krael shocks Borrego, Martinez stops Bravo

In a war, super lightweight Cameron Krael (14-13-3, 3 KOs) upset Jose Miguel Borrego (14-2, 12 KOs) by ten round majority decision on Saturday night at Sam’s Town Hotel & Gambling Hall in Las Vegas. It was a toe-to-toe slugfest for all ten rounds, with local hero Krael prevailing 96-94, 96-94, 95-95.

Unbeaten super featherweight prospect Xavier Martinez (12-0, 8 KOs) stopped Oscar Bravo (22-9, 10 KOs) in round six. A barrage of punches prompted referee Jack Reiss to stop it at 2:47. Bravo complained about the stoppage.

Super middleweight Lionell Thompson (20-5, 11 KOs) was knocked down, but still won a wide decision over Derrick Findley (28-24-1, 18 KOs). Findley dropped Thompson at the end of round nine, but it wasn’t enough. Scores were 99-91, 98-91, 98-91.

Super middleweight Christopher Brooker (14-6, 5 KOs) scored a ten round unanimous decision over Lanell Bellows (18-3-2, 11 KOs). Scores were 96-94, 98-92, 97-93.

Former female flyweight champion Ava Knight (16-2-4, 5 KOs) scored a six round unanimous decision over Nancy Franco (17-14-2, 5 KOs). Scored 59-55 across the board.

Super lightweight Maurice Lee (8-1-1, 4 KOs) and Ivan Pandzic (8-1-1, 4 KOs) battled to a six round majority draw. Scores were 57=57, 57-57, 58-56 Lee.
