Phuzi-Mwanda clash for WBA Pan African title

Akani Phuzi from the Limpopo Province and Youssof Kasango Mwanda of the Democratic Republic of the Congo meet in a clash for the vacant WBA Pan African cruiserweight title at the Blairgowrie Recreation Centre in Randburg on Sunday afternoon. Mwanda (5-0, 3 KOs) who is now based in Gauteng made his pro debut on June 11, 2017 at the Blairgowrie Recreation Centre with a first round technical knockout win over Akeem Tijani and followed this up with victories over Chris Thompson (pts 6), Beleskay Mukanya (tko 1), Chris Thompson (ko 2) and Limbani Lano (pts 6) in his most recent fight on June 1 this year at the Swazi Royal Spa Casino in Mbabane.

Mwanda who based in Gauteng is listed on Boxrec as Youssouf Kasongo Mwanza with two winning fights in 2017 against George Tsimanga (pts 4) and Khayeni Hlunwane (pts 8). However, the promoter has quoted a record of 8-2, 2 KOs on the fight bill.

The promising Phuzi goes into the fight as the favorite.
