Frank Espinoza, manager of two-time Mexican Olympian and WBO featherweight champion Oscar Valdez (24-0, 19 KOs), told Fightnews.com® that Valdez starts training camp on October 1st. He is returning after suffering a broken jaw in his exciting win over Scott Quigg in March.
“Oscar is going to Mexico to train with Eddy Reynoso. He wants to train in Guadalajara. He wants to be in his homeland and they will train at Reynoso’s gym,” said the three-time manager of the year.
“The goal is for Oscar to fight in December. He wants to defend his title and we are extremely happy to fulfill his desire. Oscar will become (next to Canelo) Mexico’s biggest star. We are on the right path,” he concluded.
