Floyd: I’m coming back to fight Pacquiao this year

Stealing some of the thunder on the day of the GGG-Canelo rematch, Floyd Mayweather posted a video on Instagram where he and Manny Pacquiao hooked at a music festival in Japan. Floyd writes “I’m coming back to fight Manny Pacquiao this year. Another 9 figure payday on the way.”

On the video, WBA welterweight champion Pacquiao is overheard saying “I have the belt.” Floyd’s response? “I’ll take it from you like I did before!”

If Mayweather-Pacquiao II is for real, it could be competing against the already announced Wilder-Fury PPV on tap for November-December. The first May-Pac fight in 2015 was the highest grossing boxing match of all time. Floyd will now be attempting to match the 51-0 record of current WBC minimumweight champion Wanheng Menayothin, who matched, then broke Floyd’s record earlier this year.
