Big-punching bantamweight Ricardo “Hindu” Espinoza (21-2, 18 KOs impressively dethroned WBO Latin champion Daniel “Alacran” Lozano (15-5, 11 KOs) in two savage rounds Friday night at the Brian Glazer JCC ballroom in Tampa, Florida.
Espinoza dropped Lozano twice in round two and the bout was waved off. Lozano entered rated WBO #4 and was tapped as a replacement fighter for the upcoming WBSS bantamweight tourney.
Unbeaten bantamweight Hairon “El Maja” Socarras (19-0-3, 12 KOs) scored a ten round unanimous decision over Jose Nieves (22-5-3, 11 KOs). Scores were 100-90, 100-90, 99-91.
Featherweight Jean Carlos “Chapito” Rivera (15-0, 10 KOs) knocked out veteran Luis Hinojosa (31-15, 18 KOs) in round two. A hook to the body put Hinojosa down for the count. Time was 1:45.
Unbeaten lightweight Nester Bravo (14-0, 10 KOs) scored a one round TKO over Martin Cardona (24-14, 16 KOs). Bravo dropped Cardona in round one and Cardona didn’t come out for round two.
Bantamweight Edwin Rodriguez (10-5, 5 KOs) outpointed previously unbeaten Santiago Arroyo (6-1-1, 3 KOs) over six by scores of 58-56, 59-55, 58-56.
Lightweight Felix Santana Jr. (3-0, 1 KO) bumrushed Tommy Logan (4-3, 3 KOs) and got him out of there in about 30 seconds.
