Lee beats Hernandez for NABO title

Undefeated WBO #3 world ranked light heavyweight Mike Lee (21-0-0, 11 KOs) scored a workmanlike ten round unanimous decision over Jose Hernandez (19-4-1, 9 KOs) on Friday night at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois. Scores were 97-93 across the board for Lee, who won the NABO title. After the fight, Lee named Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. as someone he would like to face and said he’s ready to challenge for a title at either 168 or 175.

2012 Olympic Bronze Medalist Tervel Pulev (11-0, 10 KOs) scored a first round TKO over Armando Ancona (8-8-2, 5 KOs) in an eight-round cruiserweight bout. The brother of top-rated heavyweight Kubrat Pulev, Tervel quickly knocked down the outmatched Ancona. Ancona got up, but after a few more punches the referee stopped the fight. Time was 2:06.

Super middleweight Demar Singleton (10-2-1, 6 KOs) scored a last minute TKO over local favorite “White Lightning” Tommy Hughes (6-1, 3 KOs) in the sixth and final round. The referee stopped the fight due to a cut that Hughes sustained earlier in the fight. Time was 2:30.
